19.08.10: The last three months were cloudy; and this place was a silent sufferer. And I know its cost. God willing, things will be better, now. Feel like quoting from one of my Hindi compositions…

बंद हो गयी मेरी सांसें

रूक गयी दिल की धडकनें

हैरान हुआ ज़माना

जो मैं फिर भी जिन्दा दिखाई दिया

17.05.10: I got a shock to find a glitch in my facebook account… all friends, notes, comments, links had gone :(
My friends’ list (about 200 only) had been carefully built over the five years facebook has been. Now, I have to go through the process again. Those who were there as my friends or those who think they should be there, may please send a friendship request to me on facebook.

24.04.10: UN’s World Food Programme has just declared me blogger of the week.
WFP Coordinator Abby Ravera informed me of the decision.
Though I think my contributions have been too small for the cause, the world body appreciated my work in raising awareness about hunger issues.
WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian agency and the UN’s frontline agency for hunger solutions.
I am humbled by this recognition and I believe it will prompt me to continue working for the underprivileged.
I know they need more care, more attention… and (some) food at least.

11.04.10: O I got quoted. Click the image on the right to read the story. EXCERPTS: Rashmee Roshan Lall, editor of the Sunday Times of India, said many Indian Hindus could not contemplate the idea of marrying a Pakistani Muslim.”There are many reasons for this, not least the widely held, popular view that she is selling herself short by marrying so gauche (and now, dishonest) a man as Shoaib,” she said. “But the underlying sub-text was undoubtedly a sense that Sania is getting her just desserts. The whole affair illustrates a deeply held competitiveness between India and Pakistan.”

But Neeraj Bhushan, an Indo-Pak expert based in Delhi, felt the couple were simply being used as pawns in a bigger political game. “The Shoaib-Sania wedding is a very ordinary affair,” he said. “But it looks like the vested interests on both sides will keep looking for such ordinary events to keep the pot boiling, without realising that their actions and speeches are affecting the lives of two young and innocent persons adversely, maybe for a long time to come.”

Such marriages will remain unusual until politicians have the courage to drop their confrontational stance, he added.

That mood of confrontation has been heightened since the Mumbai attacks, although there have been glimmers of hope recently.

25.03.10: My another project Raisina Hills had a make-over yesterday. This was necessary. Now, people are contributing and enriching the site. That makes me happier. Well, those who subscribe to my blog ‘Greater Voice’ have something to cheer as they stand to get more (than other contributors to Raisina Hills), as each published contribution is suitably paid there. This has to be spread by word of mouth. Encourage people to write. One has to just mention in the mail to mail@neerajbhushan.com that he / she subscribes to ‘Greater Voice’ blog. Upon verification, the contributor will be duly intimated of the procedure, options, policies and guidelines for posting and payment.

21.03.10: Delhi’s monkeys are huge, bulky, aggressive and their strength, too, is rising. Hearing this, one of my friends from Global Post, Mark Scheffler, was here last year to report on the monkey menace. A 3:45 minute video was the result. I made some quick translations therein. I really like Mark’s story telling ways… and my voice too. And hey, can you spot PTI Building which too is not free from monkeys. Monkey, Monkey Everywhere. Uff! Click here to read ‘Monkeys in the Park, Monkeys in the Palace’, as featured in The New York Times.

17.03.10: It was time to change my glasses. The obvious choice – Lawrence & Mayo. The shop at Janpath is impressive, affordable and friendly. ISO 9001 – 2000 certified. You get wide collection, rages and shades. A recommended shop for eye care and precision instruments. I am told L&M shops are all over India now… over 50 outlets across the country. And I am one among its millions of happy customers. A good value for money, indeed.

03.03.10: It’s always exciting to work with those who are young or young at heart. Isn’t it? Recently, I got such an opportunity. And the result was exceptional.

Actually, our team worked on an ad shoot. The television promotion, my second, was about company secretaries. Watch it here in case you missed it on the news channels. You can click on the image too.

16.02.10: Over an year ago, I featured in an advertisement on every TV channel.

The ad was made in all Indian languages. In case you’d missed, you can click here to watch the ad.

Why I am telling you this is because yesterday, there was another shoot. This time I’m going to feature as the Director of … I won’t tell you now. Watch out. As soon as I’ve the DVD version, I’ll post it here.

13.02.10: So you heard about the PTI Diamond Jubilee celebrations! The rats were at it … looting … squandering … eating … and … drinking. It is painful to now learn that they started all this wining and dining. And they spent Rs. One Lakh on it at a city club.

HERE IS THE BILL

  1. Liquor : Rs.59,000
  2. Liquor (Teacher) : Rs.18,000
  3. Liquor (Rum) : Rs. 1,400
  4. Dinner : Rs.15,600
  5. Tent : Rs. 3,000
  6. Juices : Rs. 1,800
  7. Miscll : Rs.300

I was thus prompted to write about their exploits. And I’ve done so as part of my series on Dismantling Media Mafia. You may read it here.

05.02.10: PTI’s ageing C.E.O. M.K.Razdan himself found it wearisome yesterday to attend the concluding day of the 3-day ‘PTI Diamond Jubilee Function’ (dis)organised by his caucus members and henchmen – M.S.Yadav & Rakesh Hari Pathak – in New Delhi. Again, as expected, their STAR GUEST Anil Ambani (who, according to them, had kindly consented to be the eminent speaker) did not turn up. Also not showing up at the fraud event were: Minister for Civil Aviation Praful Patel (who was listed as their Guest of Honor), Minister of Agriculture Sharad Pawar (listed as Chief Guest for the concluding session), BJP Parliamentary Board Chairman L.K.Advani, CPI-M General Secretary Prakash Karat, RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav, Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav and JDU President Sharad Yadav, among others. Hmmmm! The crooks were happy to have Amar Singh with them. Who is he? Meanwhile, the Delhi media has a funny SMS being circulated in the fraternity: “With The DIAMOND Having Been Stolen, They Were Left With Only JUBILEE.”

And hello!!! Please let me know if you’d seen any press coverage of their (dys)function, anywhere – from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. I am eager to see what’s being written about them.

_______________________________________________________

04.02.10: Yesterday, truth prevailed. And it prevailed once again. Mr.Natwar Lal M.S.Yadav & Co. was left with no choice but to curse God. Reason – The ‘Diamond’ from their ‘Jubilee’ was missing. Every loyal PTI soldier actually thanked Vice President Hamid Ansari for his timely action in not attending a fraud function. Other dignitaries who realized the evil designs of the disgraced organizers at the appropriate time and did not attend include Minister of Information & Broadcasting Ambika Soni, Minister of Railways Mamata Banerjee, Minister of Labor Mallikarjun Kharge, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Himachal Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chhatisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. Should I now lodge a police complaint and also demand a CBI inquiry against India’s newest Natwar Lal for misleading such dignitaries and collecting huge money from the market in their names!

03.02.10: The Razdan-Yadav caucus is masterminding a three-day ‘celebration’ of PTI Diamond Jubilee (sic) at Mavalankar Hall, V.P.House, New Delhi. I’ve written about these frauds collecting money from the business houses disguising themselves as PTI agents. Yesterday i.e. February 2, a host of dignitaries including BJP leader Arun Jaitley, CPI stalwart Gurudas Dasgupta and Ministers Subodh Kant Sahay, Sachin Pilot and Jyotiraditya Scindia were invited. None of them turned up. Lesser known junior minister Harish Rawat, a friend of Razdan, perhaps obliged them. Leftists(?) D.Raja and Sitaram Yechury were there too. Don’t know why! Interestingly, some top businessmen, including Anil Ambani (close to caucus’ Rakesh Hari Pathak), have also been invited to this ‘trade union’ function. It is learnt that Ambani hugely funds this caucus, of course for good returns in the form of favorable news. Right now, I’m watching if their Chief Guest Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari visits them today! He should not. I understand that vice president Ansari must have been misled by the caucus. I think he would certainly apply his mind in the nick of the time and would refrain from joining hands in any manner with the frauds. In fact, the vice president’s office should order an inquiry into the whole incident.

28.01.10: PTI is in trouble, serious trouble. There’s a crook making money. You must know him now. And there’s a person who’s secretly masterminding everything. He is a manipulator, master operator … I’ll better call him a mafia, as you will read in my new series on the Home Page. The first in the such series … ‘Dismantling Media Mafia,  Part – I’ is being posted.

_______________________________________________________

20.01.10: Besides PTI Diary, which is a weekly feature, I will now be highlighting the current, actual situation in the news agency Press Trust of India through posts on the main home page also. Thus, from now on, you can expect more real stories (read skeletons) in the cupboard.

Promise. I won’t disappoint you. Thank you for motivating me to arrive at this decision. But, please remember: Your feedback and comments are more important, or I would rather put it like this: Your Views Are Mightier Than Mine.

मैं अकेला ही चला था ….

मगर …

लोग साथ आते गए और कारवां बनता गया.

01.12.09: I have decided to write ‘PTI Diary‘ – a chronology of my fight with a corrupt system at the helms in news agency The Press Trust of India Ltd (PTI).

The postings should start on this blog from this week only.

May be, I’ll create a separate template for the Diary. Or, I may decide to write the posts on the main page itself. Initially, I was hesitant to start the work. But, I think, I carry the responsibility to join the dots, now. Photographs and documents are in plenty. First hand accounts are vivid and my personal experiences are no less. Looking forward to your continued support and blessings. Love.

  1. Hi, Neeraj:
The Hindu had a single column news on the PTI Diamond Jubilee. Call it the curtain raiser. And the quote on Mr Natwarlal was hilarious. Please check PTI files on this. Also, interesting is the Chief Editor’s quotes. Think you can post them here. After that, we haven’t seen any coverage at all.

By the way, is it true that Anil Ambani also funded a flat to a PTI journalist for great coverage of his rivarlry with his sibling Mukesh?

Then, the PTI union elections, especially the annual one for the employees all around the country. It is a real joke. Till this moment, no secret ballot has been held. This has happened even before Yadav’s (terror) reign. It is I am general secretary, you are joint secretary and he is the present. The smart operators hold sway. And poor employees are thrust with these operators.

God save PTI. Dont worry, it is just round the corner.

    • Thanks for sharing the valuable info … raising some queries and commenting. Thanks also for your encouraging words.

I have worked on some leads.

It is being learnt that the journalist (is he a journalist in true sense?) not only got one but two flats in fact – one in Greater Noida (or Noida) and the other one in Gurgaon, as blessings from Anil.

It is also learnt that some skirmishes also took place some time ago in one of the flats.

I have also the impression that Directors from the South are getting keen on cleansing the system in PTI. I hope you all are working on it.

Even the Prime Minister and his media advisor Harish Khare are aware about the issues we are raising here. I need to check up how concerned they really are!

PTI needs to be cleaned. India needs an independent news agency, which is fair, free, unbiased. We need to be freed from slavery. The workforce needs to motivated.

And to make it happen – THE GEMS OF PTI NEED TO RETURN. You need to come back to PTI.

May you understand me. May all understand me. May there be a joint effort to flush the parasites out.

PTI is so close to my heart. And my present campaign is so dear to me. Hope it is same with you, and all.

      SAVE PTI.

  2. halo neeraj,

no doubt a police complaint and cbi inquiry should be done
in the huge collection of money in the name of golden
jubilee meeting against not only yadav but also from all the
regional secretaries who threatened the staff in collection for
    ads.
infact it should be we should file, but the situation is like that
you are taking the case for all on behalf of us.
    continue your great work neeraj.
    thanks

  3. Hi Neeraj,

Inform us what about the forthcoming celebrations of 60 years.. celebration for what… for union becoming slavery of the union.. or whethere it is a scheme to collect cash, as done earlier.

    • Rightly pointed out. I’m working on it. Would write on Home Page. Gimme a little more time. Thank you so much for guiding me.

      • Now, stories as suggested are being posted on the home page. See you there.

  4. hi neeraj,

balram about me. if i get a reply for this mail we will proceed further.

    thanks
