Raj has done it again. So Laloo Yadav called him a ‘mental case’ and the Maharashtra Government arrested him. Is it enough? Nooooooooo.
Raj Thackeray and his men deserve stringent treatment; their acts need to be deprecated by everyone.
I am surprised why the Mumbaikars are silent over the Chhota Thackeray’s open goondagardi !! Doesn’t their silence reflect support for Raj’s mindless acts !!!
Why can’t their integrity be questioned as well? Is Raj actually ruling the streets or one of the Mumbaikars is carrying sticks and targetting North Indians?? Is Raj actually beating the innocent people or one of them hounding and terrorising the North Indians???
Why people from Bihar and other northern Indian states be targeted in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai? The recent attacks on examinees from Bihar has crossed limits. We can’t sit idle at our homes, now. We ought to adopt all possible, legal and reasonable means.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s silence is not understandable. I can not talk on his behalf, as he is a politician. But, I can certainly speak on behalf of my fellow Biharis.
May I therefore appeal to my people from Bihar to boycott all products Made in Maharashtra. This must include Bollywood Movies. And listen, when you pick your phone, please do not say ‘Hello’. Instead, say: “Jai Bihar”.

Thanks everyone for participating in the discussion over boycotting ‘Made in Mumbai’.
I am happy to share with you that this particular post drew most clicks and was the widely circulated to all corners of the globe. Bihar indeed was discussed. Raj Thackeray and MNS goongaism were castigated. It would not have been possible without your active involvement.
Our discussion, I must share, went to the highest levels who matter.
Thanks everyone, thanks Prashant, Vibha, Saroj, Sanjiv and jaibihar.com for initiating this instant thread.
Meanwhile, I must share the breaking news with you also. Shiv Sena has now attacked Sachin Tendulkar for his ‘Mumbai is for everyone’ remark. Hope this issue nails narrow mindset of the Thackerays.
Best wishes, Jai Bihar.

The idea is naive and impractical. We cannot create diffferent economies in the country in this era of globalisation, integration and MNCs operating from numerous bases.
Instead of taking animosity this far, we should think of bring Bihar at par with other states so that nobody has to migrate for basic livelihood.
The only solution is development of Bihar. If we are really serious about this issue, we should be ready to invest our resources (time, effort, money, thought process) for betterment of Bihar rather than wasting them on thinking of ways and means to hurt Maharashtra.
Remember, Bihar does not have to developat the cost of some other state, but on its own and its own right.
By hurting Industry in Maharashtra, you will probably end up hurting your own bihari brethren as well who might be working as labourers in those industry, or involved in value chain of those industry at some stage.
The only way to hurt Raj is to ignore him. Don’t give him too much importance.

It is a highly impractical idea to boycott things made in Maharashtra. Some of the reasons for my belief are
1. Maharashtra has a reasonable size of residing Biharis. All attempts to boycott goods made in Maharashtra is likely to affect Biharis especially the lower starta of people working in these industries as labourers, operators, etc.
2. A campaign run over emails and a couple of paper ads will not have much of an impact. A much larger campaign would be required which would entail enormous cost. Such a campaign is unlikely to succeed without the support of the Bihar Govt (which can never support this initiative openly).
3. Doing so would mean that we are also reacting like Raj Thackarey trying to hold a section of people at ransom. Even if our campaign in successful, we will end up bulling Raj and Maharashtra Govt which does not send out a positive signal for the people of Bihar. There will be more violance against the people of Bihar. Are we equipped today to offer jobs to thousands of people who would have to leave Maharashtra and return to Bihar?
4. Infact other states might also start reacting unnecessarily against Biharis assuming that we might do a similar thing with those states. Afterall the image and respect for Biharis in various states has been at an all time low not too long ago.
I would agree with some of the people who have said that rather than reacting against Maharashtra, we should rather focus on the development of Bihar. Creating self sufficiency in Bihar is the only way to improve the image of Bihar and command the respect that all Bihari people deserve.
Instead of focusing our efforts externally , let us focus our efforts internally.
1. Let us get our major political parties to support the development efforts for Bihar rather than just trying to derail and criticize all efforts being currently made.
2. I am highly surprised by the political party that was in power for 1.5 decades and responsible for taking Bihar to the drains. However they are quick to criticize all efforts (positive and negative) of the state today with the sole motive of making political gains. Undoing damage done over 15 years and more requires time to be undone and cannot be done in a short span of time. Hence let us try and influence such politicians, if possible, to contribute positively for the development and rise of Bihar.
3. Various political parties are carrying out morchas, bandhs, etc to highlight that no development is taking place in the current regime. However 87% common people agree that development is happening in Bihar. So can we convince the common man to not get carried away by such claims of political parties motivated by just political ambitions?
4. Let us force everyone possible to work for the development of Bihar.
Let us force the rest of India and the rest of the world to give due respect to us Biharis by our actions, our growth and most importantly the growth and flourishment of Bihar. That is in my opinion the best way to respond to petty politicians like Raj Thackarey.

Prashant

Neeraj ji / Sanjiv ji,
I was going through various discussion threads and I found this email. I have been practicing this for sometime. I usually don’t buy products manufactured in Maharashtra if its alternative is available.
I would like to give shape to this campaign through Jai Bihar. Is it possible to have a more comprehensive list of products category-wise (e.g. Automobile, FMCG, Financial, etc…)?
We need to kill Maharashtra economically. A campaign of this intent will at least give us a psychological win.

I do agree with Saroj ji. Hatred is not the solution of any problem. Blood in place of blood will complicate situation more. Already we are facing so much problem on domestic fora. We have to look into that why we Biharis are getting so much hatred from all over India? Its like the same that now a days Indians get similar kind of reactions from other nationals. The reason is simple. we are hard working, sencere, so we get the job. but at the same time, locals think that we are depriving them by snatching their livelihood. I think, we will also think in the same manner if people will start coming in Bihar or in India in such a large scale. So pressurise our politicians, policy makers. Try to change the mentality of our own people so that trust for opening industries etc will be built up. If some one doing well, he/she must get protection from DADAs of their vasoolis.

The idea to boycott stuff made in Maharashtra is not conducive to our own well being as well as impractical.
Right answer to our problems is to develop Bihar by generating more jobs. Unless that happens, all our lamentation and frustration will not result in any positive change.

Bihar govt takes first step to unite Biharis in Mumbai
Bihar Foundation, an initiative by Bihar government to facilitate the participation of Bihari diaspora in the development of Bihar, is opening its Mumbai Chapter on November 7.
“The Chapter will be inaugurated by Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi at YB Chavan Auditorium, Nariman Point. The program will begin at 6 pm,” Satyajit Narayan Singh, PRO of the Foundation informed Jai Bihar.
A team of 22 artists from Bhartiya Nritya Kala Mandir (Patna) will perform on the occasion for promoting art and culture of Bihar. The function will also be attended by State minister Renu Devi, Singh said.
The Foundation team, led by CEO Vivek Kumar Singh, were part of the roadshow campaign to woo investors in Mumbai last month.
“Our aim is to unite and form local chapters of non-resident Biharis (NRB) in areas which have substantial Bihari migrant population and to aid them in developing the state of Bihar through strategic interventions in various fields,” said Vivek Kumar Singh, who holds the additional post of Secretary, Department of Art, Culture and Youth.
The Mumbai Chapter has been formed by uniting many individual Bihari groups working in Maharashtra. An executive committee has already been formed on the recommendation of members associated with the local Chapter. The committee will be led by Ravi Shankar Srivastav, Additonal Commissioner (Income Tax). Srivastav is a native of Patna.
The Chapter includes some prominent names from entertainment world like Manoj Tiwari, Neetu Chandra and Vineet Kumar. Professionals from business and academic world – Ravi Sinha (IIT professor), TV Sinha, Sarvesh Sahi (industrialist), PN Singh (industrialist), Subh Chandra Mishra (social activist) and others will form the think tank of the Chapter.
Kunwar Sanjeev Singh, CEO of Regalis Ventures, who is also associated with the Foundation for brand building, said, “Such steps readily establishes a connection to people and real issues faced by Bihar and Biharis can be addressed in an honest, open, and enthusiastic manner.”
Anjuman-E-Bashindgan-e-Bihar is playing active role by lending its office for the use of the Mumbai Chapter.
Modi will also inaugurate a 15-bed medical care unit at Nagpada in Mumbai Central. The unit (located at 103A, Raja Bahadur Building, Maulana Azad Road (South) Nagpada, Mumbai Central) will cater to Biharis – especially poor patients, who come to Mumbai for medical treatment in various hospitals.

The Stateless Shameless Bihari’s.
It seems Bihar CM is just busy with skirting all the issues, be it development of state, protecting Bihari’s in / out side the state….. Except one exercise and that is-
1. To appease the real saffron brigade so that they do not bad mouth him as is case with your Mr. Ex CM.
2. False / Baseless propaganda of developing the state without any ground reality. All this will lead you know where and you shall in coming days will go worst than your better noire, as he is charismatic and can shine anywhere. What about you Nitish? Pull up your shock and sleeve or kindly leave the seat.
And please do not give 110 reasons for your failure— as is your characteristic. You did not became CM on this plank that for fooling and being idle always you will say its what you have got. Perform or be man to step down…. that it’s not your cup of tea and let Lalu do the CM work.
Why Bihari’s are laughed; hated & disgusted?
“Bihari’s get beaten up like dogs in other house and ran as cat……… Then at home they torch their own house and like to call themselves as Lion”- when all such things are going on their Mr. CM is defenseless and hides his helpless in name of India/ Country / Integrity and what not bullshit…. … its height of political daridraness…. . But what one could expect from a backward kurmi who till date could not even raise his head in front of the Bhumiars; Brahman; Kayasth in their own state.
At least man should have self respect that he is a CM of state whose citizens are always and everywhere are insulted, his primary duty is to be Bihari CM but no…. oh sorry he is Bihari…… . he will always talk of India .. i.e. nothing but he wants to be PM as all Bihari’s want…….. ha ha ha ha ha
Bihari’s and Bihar
Will humbly do;
1. Support BJP party though Atal Bihari Vajpayee publicly as PM of India insults Bihari.
For any other state can anybody dare…. hahaha?
• AP High Court judges commented derogatory ref of Bihar during in case where – Bihar or Bihari had nothing to do with the case & was total irrelevant.
• Union Health Minister A Ramadoss has abused Bihar and Bihari’s without any reason by saying “…that a doctor from Bihar was the reason why UK derecognized Indian Medical Degrees in 1970” .
• In J&K- BSF instructors in Jammu and Kashmir harasses 136 recruits of Bihar Military Police (BMP), who later deserted the centre.
• Congress Delhi CM Sheila Dixit a Punjabi who started her career as politician from UP but could not succeed now in Delhi bashes Bihari & UPites as she knows the society is been ruled by a microscopic upper caste with such iron hand of atrocities since ages that no two caste from upper or backward can talk in same voice forget whole society.
• GOA home minister Ravi Naik opposed the introduction of train from Patna to Panaji by saying in media publicly “beggars from Bihar will start reaching the coastal states.”
• Lt Governor of Delhi too echoed the same publicly.
• Recently those who went for training for BMP (Bihar Military Police) were subjected harassment because of them being Bihari.
• Modi too said the same thing, that Bihari’s are not wanted.
• Late Senior BJP leader from Maharashtra Pramod Mahajan too threatened & warned Bihari student’s way back in 2005.
• Bal Thackeray & Raj Thackeray.
• Congress Home Minister RR Patil said bullet for bullet response by Mumbai police is correct for Bihari’s.
• Shatrughan the Kayasth went further denigrating Bihar & Bihari during the Marathi vs Bihari stir in Mumbai and publically called that he endorses what Bal Thackeray said and he is God for him / Bihari.
• Bihari Bismillah Khan was not accorded the respect in AP for being Bihari; that too after receiving the highest civilian award……. …hahaha
• Even though repeatedly, he requested through media for playing Shenahi in his birthplace but to vain.
• Not a single time did the Govt of Bihar or any independent social body, public helped him in conducting the concert at his home place Bhagalpur and nearby village? Can such thing happen in any other state, forget government public will throng and accord all respect to their son’s/daughters.
• Former Indian Skipper Azharuddin said all Bihari are chor’s (Thief’s) and apologized only when defamation suit was filed.
• Bihari “JHAKI” many times have not been given permission in Delhi on republic Day……… .. Hahaha
• Bihari’s get insulted, harmed, killed in Punjab, J&K, Assam, Bengal, AP, Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat etc…….. who cares.
• …. Others they may worship the Bihari God as others want…. That is they can be selective / choosey but always slaps the same god when need be to send the message that even Bihari gods have to be in their limit……. . Example “chhat ka natak”, Karunanidhi “telling all sort of derogative things to God”
• Let everyone take the entire mineral from this land at the same rate even when transported to any part of India – without giving any benefit to the Bihar, so that other state can develop and their own masses can perish off course in name of “India”. Bottom line if Bihar starts developing then Bhumiars, Brahmans and lalla’s will lose out…. How can / dare shudra, dalits progress.
• See Bihari’s the days are very near when others will take away the water and we will find no har har gange in our land- offcourse in name of “holy Ganga”, “India”, “Hinduism” etc — and saving the Bihari’s from flood ………… just one has to give the “Jhunjhuna” to our backward kurmi politician that you be made PM…….. hahaha …… and for the murderer Bhumiars & other upper caste that whatever they do in Bihar no one would question you all………… hahaha
• In Punjab Bihari migrant are harassed, insulted, killed enmass (by bombing theatre playing Bhojpuri film).
• But why example of other state see Bihar whole village is wiped out from child to old human souls because they are born low caste.
• Bihar Police lines have separate caste kitchens like “Bhumiar Chauka”, “Rajput Chauka”, “Harijan Chauka”.
• Bhumiars caste washed the statue of their own caste man when it was garlanded by then CM Lalu Prasad Yadav and it happens by advertising in media. Forget for ordinary lower caste souls.
• Let Bihari’s get killed in Assam & NE as they are from shudra (Still after violence the remaining who flew goes back because in Bihar it’s worse than that.)
• Let Bihari’s poor girls be sold to Punjabi’s & Haryanvi’s for mere sum, primarily due to pathetic treatment they get back home as they are tribal / shudra.
Let…. Etc.
If any politician tries to get investment thwart it to that area on names of corruption etc and see the same is not succeeded as the downtrodden will raise their head and the hegemony of the affluent will get abolished.
I was in UP at the time of Taj Corridor- courtesy Ms Mayawati when the people started objecting I had talked with many all had to say the simple thing; she is taking bribe, pollution etc. I could not understand one thing- what’s wrong if she is taking bribe let her do after all in this commercial world who won’t take but why deny investment which will bring money to all the layers of society. The bottom line is to deny everyone the livelihood.
The whole matter was closed with help of Supreme Court on flimsy pollution ground. The whole party congress, SP, BJP etc were against it (read the people of UP) and which resulted in her to doing same thing now……… all are happy. If the same would have been in any other state one would have found the deal getting materialized. Its not politician fault, its people.
Take instance of Bihar right now;
• Has the government given any land to IIT?
• Any plan for SEZ.
• Any plan to encourage the English language in primary education so that it becomes the recruitment hub for BPO & Call Centre.
• Any plan for implementing reservation which was enshrined in constitution and based on its negotiation the independence of India was agreed upon and which has been implemented in many parts of India except in Hindi Cow Belt region.
• Any guts (political will) for land reforms with iron hand…
For all ………………………A BIG NO.
List is never ending;
Bihari’s basic problem is that one cannot see or want any other Bihari should earn a decent livelihood.. ……… And that is the reason that we all land up everywhere be it Gujarat, Maharashtra, All southern states where they have given the downtrodden opportunity to get lifted into main stream since pre independence day by reservation. ……
but Bihari’s till date have circumvented always such human things to their own brethren but want themselves the benefit on the plank of “Indian”…. hahaha.
All the upper / affluent caste Bihari comes to other land and work for the lower caste of that region but back in Bihar; Bihari’s are nothing but killers to their subordinate caste in socio economic hierarchy of castiest society….. ..
Plssssss let look into ourselves
P.S.
What always Bihari will say / shout at top voice; But is blind too;
Bihar is home to all religion. Religion polluted by upper caste.
All Gods are from Bihar. Bihar since long has become hell.
Most of IAS, UPSC, and many IIT, IIMs Home to Ranvir Sena/Mafia/Don’ s too.
are from Bihar.
All minerals & Ganga is in Bihar. Not a single industry or investment
Castiesm is in Bihar & that’s what has let us backward. Yet No land reform, no reservation etc but yes would like to be treated as Indian.
Most of them will never say / shout that I am Bihari Will say I am born in Gujarat, Maharashtra etc

It hurts to see that residents of Bihar and UP are beaten up for all funny reasons in Maharashtra. We are a nation and people are free to live and work anywhere in India. Thought we do not have control over the local affairs, still we can surely show them how they can be hurt through a few steps in Bihar, UP and entire North India:-
1.Start a movement to stop buying all things made/manufactured in Maharashtra by raising awareness in our state.
2.Educate people not to buy automobiles manufactured in Maharashtra (Pune) like ones from Bajaj Auto/Kinetic/Maruti etc. from showrooms in our state that hurts the economy of that state and the Centre realises what two largely populated states can do.
3.Identify other businesses that earn money for Maharashtra and have their shops/showrooms face the music in UP and Bihar and quit using their Products. No violence please as it will effect the cause.
4.Force these big industrialists to either get the Maharashtra government starting taking action or move out to other states. One example of what can be done is Trinimool’s movement in Bengal forcing Tatas out. Global financial condition is not good and to see their sales getting effected for wrong reasons should have some effect on their decisions.
5. SPREAD THIS TO as many people for awareness. If you know of other means of highlighting the feel free to do that.
We do not need to be violent and start burning our state properties but surely raise the awareness level of the over all public. These steps really be effective. Use political contacts and spread awareness using posts on blogs / internet etc.

Bihari leaders strive to make sure that you guys move out of the state as immigrants to other parts so that they can exploit the state’s resources; and there isn’t anyone to complain.
If Raj Thackeray is playing divisive politics, he is atleast doing it for his own people. Your leaders are playing a dirty game with you by keeping you people in poverty and other miseries.
Over and above, they are instigating a false pride in you and expecting you to stay away. If your leaders were true and honest, they would have asked you to come back to your home state and promised you a good life.

I feel your pain. The core of the issue is economic. However, boycott will not achieve anything. The solution, to my mind, is to demand immediate correction of the gross under investment in Bihar. In every five year plan since independence, Bihar share has been the lowest. According to one study, if Bihar share had been the same as the national average, it would have received Rs 1 lakh crore more, not counting inflation or the interest! How can a state but be underdeveloped if there is this level of underinvestment. This is the fight we have to undertake.

I was wondering why is the Congress government (which is both at the Center and State) not doing anything about this, and then heard someone in a TV show say that, well Congress gets to divide the Shiv Sena votes by working along with MNS, so both MNS and Congress is gaining from the stupidity that is going on.
Raj Thackery has now become a nation politician, and we all know know that there is party of goons called as MNS. Shiv Sena again can’t complain about all this as they had been the ones doing this in the past to gain votes, and they fear to alienate their present supporters, as the party stands on same idiots like MNS….
Blogging might help, but i think all media and eveybody has criticised whats happening there. But as both MNS and Congress are gaining, nothing is happening. Judiciary can/might step in but that may do more damage to the present state of judiciary –>Executive relationship.
This is a battle which all the Maharashtrains will have to fight and prove an example by making MNS as no entity in the elections. Cheers.

NON-VIOLENT PROTESTERS AGAINST VIOLENT REGIONALISM FACE UNJUSTIFIABLE ARREST IN
MUMBAI
HUNDRED ARRESTED AND RELEASED: VOW TO COMBAT ‘GOONDA RAJ’ WITH STATE VIOLENCE
The silent peaceful protest by a few hundred peace loving, non communal and progressive citizens including activists from dalit, women’s rights, literary
and other human rights groups in Mumbai challenging the hijacking of the ordinary citizens’ agenda and the violent, divisive politics of Maharashtra
Navnirman Sena and its instigator-leader Raj Thackeray was targeted by the Mumbai police today afternoon at 3:30 p.m.outside the Church Gate Railway
station.
The Police had given permission for the planned silent protest with black strips on the mouths and posters, between 2-4 pm after intimation. However, with no jutsification, Mr. Shishupal and other police officials started disturbing the protest since the beginning. Later, within less than an hour when they witnessed jathas of women and men gathering, they came down heavily on the protesters, arbitrarily snatching away the banners, confiscated leaflets and physically lifted some of them including social activist Medha Patkar, veteran film maker Anand Patwardhan, Advocate Hasina Sanobar and others amidst heavy media presence.
The protestors, who were taken to the Azad Maidan Police Station were later released after an hour of illegal detention, without declaring any sections of
the IPC.
They then marched towards the VT Railway Station raising slogans against the police atrocities and violent regionalism. The activists from the Republican Panthers also actively sang songs of peace and diversity. The actions of the police cracking down on peaceful voices of protest that are trying to preserve the rich and diverse culture of Maharashtra is infact
against the true Marathi culture, which is tolerant and peace loving.
“We unequivocally condemn this action by the Maharashtra government and the heavy handedness of the police against the silent peaceful protesters, who does nothing when the goons of the ‘Maharastra Navnirman Sena’ go on rampage and destroy property and threaten and kill innocent people. This has been possible only because of the inaction and late action with weak judicial process and no use of force against the criminal offenders and offences of MNS by the State. On the other hand, the utter disregard for the democratic rights of the citizens (in particular the freedom of peaceful public protest) by the government need to be condemned. “We demand strict legal action against the leaders and activists of MNS who are the real threat to the plural, secular and
democratic framework of the country”, declared the activists, unanimously.
The protestors included film maker Anand Patwardhan, Medha Patkar, Mukta Srivastava and others of NAPM/NBA; Dolfy D’Souza and others of Bombay Catholic Sabha, Hasina Khan and others of Awaz-e-Niswan; Advocate Hasina Sanobar and
others of Forum Against Opression of Women; Shyam Sonar and others of Republican Panthers, activists of Lok Raj Sanghatan, Maju Verghese, YUVA, Mohan
Chavan of Shahar Vikas Manch, Pravin Yerunkar of Lok Jagaran Manch and a few hundred others, including many from the toiling sections of the urban poor, who are the worst affected by any kind of communal violence, mostly belonging to Ghar Bachao Ghar Banao Andolan.

Dear All,
Well, there will be a difference of opinion.
I agree Biharies are unwanted by INDIANS but
Maharastrians’ public posture is stinking.
Remember, it’s just not scoundrel RAJ Thakeray, NCP led by Sharad Pawar is giving full blind support. As media says, this is to counter Shiv Sena !!
Nothing is farthest from the truth as this. This covert support is nothing but just sheer hatred towards us.
No one form outside is investing in Bihar that’s truth now. They have no problem in investing in Assam
(HLL etc have invested in huge amount) which is
equally bad by Law an Order but for Bihar they site
law and order problem). This is nothing but hatred
towards us out of jealously??? Why I fail to
understand.
If we carry our culture and tradition, there is a problem
but there is no problem with Bengalis, Punjabis and Mallu’s maintaining their cultural identity. In fact, I was
surprised to see people calling typical North Indian
Mugalai dish here in Maharashtra as Punjabi dish!!!!
You will find huge banners greeting for Durgapuja and
Dandia from MNS, Shiv Sena & NCP. BUT THEY WILL BAN LOUD SPEAKER FOR OUR CHHAT PUJA EVEN FOR RELAXATION PERIOD TILL 10PM IN NIGHT AND CALL EVEN IT AS NAUTANKI!!!.
Regarding investment, we Biharis hardly have any money and whosoever have some, are least bothered.
BOYCOTT DOES HAVE HUGE IMPACT. REMEMBER TEXTILE AND SALT BOYCOTT BY GANDHIJI. IT CRIPPLED BRITISH EMPIRE.
We should not be goody-goody to these Indians. I may
be sounding as extremist but never mind. ONE THING IS CLEAR – BIHARIS HAVE TO BE MORE ASSERTIVE AND AGGRESSIVE TOWARDS THEIR INTEREST.
And if the rest of Indians do not want us, well fine; we should not indulge in self pitying, if they don’t want us let us chalk our own ‘Independent Way’ and re-establish Bihar’s glory. I might be alone as of now on my radical approach but as said before, never mind.
Once again, I appeal to fellow Biharis to contribute to
BOYCOTT list and make it more exhaustive.

Dear Friends,
I disagree here. Does boycotting products made in Mumbai or saying ‘Jai Bihar’ over phone solve the problem? No, It will not.
Its not only Mumbai, we see that in many parts of the country local people don’t want to see Bihari people there e.g. Punjab, Assam, Delhi etc.
Then, what will be the solution for the problem ?
We have one example near our home itself – Jamshedpur industrial area, you will find people of all states there. The solution is start generating the avenues for jobs, education in Bihar itself, so that less people migrate to other states.
According to me, following points will help in solving the problem in major way;
1) Starting of industries in Bihar;
2) Identifying small scale industries which require less investment and less skills, but have a good market and starting it operation at many places;
3) Increasing the number of schools and colleges of higher education; (We people from Bihar take admission in Maharashtra by paying huge amount as donation. Generally donation goes in some lakhs).
4) Implementing family planning, as in the long run it will make sure that the load on the resources in Bihar can be balanced out.
Some of the points will require govt help. But without govt intervention also, some of the things can be started.
First Identify how many enterpreneurs are from Bihar. If we can get a sizeable number, can they form a group and start any industry in Bihar. Agro-based will complement the fertile land in Bihar. If possible include people as shareholders in the project.
For schools, the process of setting up CBSE pattern schools can be identified as easily setup.
These steps may take some time to complete, but this will solve the problems for future.

Ab hamey jarurat hai to ek strong young leaders ki.
See, we have so many members in our community (in Bihari group and Biharbrain too) who are spread all over India and the world.
A question arises here why we are not coming out from this net to the ground? Ham sab kewal apni pratikriya net par hi dete ya lete aa rahe hain. Hamare thoughts kewal net tat hi simit hokar rah gaya hai.
Kisi na kisi ko to upar (Zamin) par aana hi chahiye. Karan yah hai ki shayad ham log kamkazi person hain aur real me (jamini star) par kya ho raha hai, dekhne se banchin raha jate hain.
Aj ke samay me ek bhi leader (from bihar/Up means Uttar Bhartiya) aisa nahin hai jo rajniti se pare hoker hamare liye lade. Ye chhotan Shukla, Rajan Tiwari, Shahabuddin, Rama Singh, Surajbhan etc jo apne apko ko ek navzavan ka leader mante hain unka ek bhi statement jo hamlogo ne padha hota! Ye log bhi mare hue se lagte hain. Ye sab apne ko marte hain aur jab dusra hame marta hai to muh tak nahin khulti hai.
Laloo, Nitish, Ramvilas ye sare ke sare apne vote ko badhane ke liye kuch na kuch bolte rahte hain. Ye Maharastra me jo kuchh bhi hua railway exam ke dauran, kya iske bare me laloo ko nahin maloom raha hoga ki wahan par Bihari log exam dene jayenge to mar-pit jaisi ghatna hogi hi? To phir usne(Laloo) aisa kyon kiya?
Party Chalane ke liye village to village muhim challakar fund ikkattha kiya jaye. Is tarah ham apne aap ko strong kar payenge anyatha nahin.

Dear Neeraj, while I respect your pro-Bihar sentiments, boycotting Maharashtrian products and saying Jai Bihar sound like the other extreme.
If you boycott Bollywood movies, who do you think is going to get affected by that? The entire low-grade staff in film industry (light boys, gaffers, trolly-men) are all from eastern UP and Bihar. They are the ones who will get affected the most.

Your anguish is must. Do not u think by doing this we are making Raj a hero? Which he wants actually. This is his strategy. I am from Delhi but I love Bihar. We should not allow Raj to divide our Bharat. We are in a free country. Anyone can go anywhere to live or for livelihood. Maharashtra is not the jagir of Raj Thakre. Maharashtra is ours like Bihar is ours. Many organisation like NAPM and others protest against anti Bihar agenda of Raj. Today, a big protest by NAPM in Mumbai at Church Gate. Do something in Delhi.
I think u r in Delhi. Kriya ki pratikriya will destroy the whole nation. These political parties do not have answer of peoples’ real problem so they are doing so. Why these parties are against minorities? Somewhere Muslims, somewhere Christians, somewhere Bihar people?
We should really think what all Bihar people can do for the state. I am living in a area where nearly lakh of students/employees are living. Instead of attacking on Maharashtra boycott these people and organisation.
More then 30 per cent IAS etc are from Bihar and still more then 40 per cent Bihar people are under poverty.
I am writing all this with pain and love for Bihar.

For sake of Bihar, let’s take Neeraj’s idea further. If it gathers momentum, it will really hit our nemesis
very hard.
Apart form Biharis, we need to mobilize people form UP and Jharkand also to join this movement, but to begin with, let’s concentrate on ourselves.
Loss of 30 cr. people as a market !!!! Its a great
idea.
Let’s prepare a list of products along with their alternates available. This will help people to decide and choose.
Automobile is one Industry which has a cascading effect on over economy. Let’s start with this industry, it will really hit them hard.

Please try to understand that not everyone from Maharashtra is a follower of Raj Thackeray or some one like him.
I know people who came all the way from Maharashtra to Bihar to help flood victims of the state.
We should not create any wall in our mind /heart. In fact, this is what they (Raj & others) want.
It is nothing but divide and rule… Let’s be informed.

This is the time to hang out this bloody Raj Thakrey. Just go ask the mother who lost her son how she was feeling the wound of this incident.
When I heard this news, tears rolled out of my eyes and I felt so so sad. This incident is a shame for all Biharis, and even after this we all are silent and watching all these so helplessly.
My friends, this is the right time to catch this Thakeray and take him to the middle of the road and …, so that he never dares again or anyoney dare to do what he has done.
Please fight against him. Best of luck my Janm Bhumi Bihar……………………….

You cannot combat one madness with another.
Besides, the Law and Order situation in Bihar is not the best in the country.
Bihar is the epicentre of corruption in India. Reminds of the joke that was doing the rounds in Delhi when Musharaff visited and Vajpai was the PM. M an V were deadlocked over the Kashmir issue for hours on end and Vajpayee decided to rope in Laloo to help.
Laloo came and whispered something in Musharaff’s ears and went out. Musharaff’s face fell and he conceded that he wanted nothing to do with Kashmir.
After it was over Vajpayee asked Laloo how he had done it. Laloo said “I just told Musharaff that if you take Kashmir Bihar also will come with it”.

Dear Neeraj,
By launching a campaign against Mumbai, aren’t you conceding Mumbai to “mental cases” like Raj? I don’t believe we have to surrender to such hooligans. I believe Mumbai belongs to more sober people like you, me, and rest of India, arguably, perhaps to the rest of the world! We don’t need to boycott anything from Mumbai.
Jai Mumbai, Bihar, Patna, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, India and the world at large!

The national parties are equally to blame for supporting and having tie-ups with regionalist formations with separatist demands.
In this particular case, the party in power at the Centre and the State have abdicated their constitutional responsibilities of protecting fundamental rights to life and liberty of Indian citizens with impunity while main opposition party is a silent spectator.
Competitive regionalism for sake of vote banks is at play and only a punishment meted out by educated classes by voting as one block at the hustings would cure them of this malaise.
With delimitation of constituencies tilting scales in favour of urban Indians who are less caste, region and language conscious than their rural brethren, the task of awakening the new set of voters to the perils of destructive politics lies with us bloggers. It doesn’t do bloggers any credit if we play into hands of divisive politicians and divide ourselves into Hindi speaking North Indians or Marathi speaking manoos or Kannadiga sons of soil.
We need to fight back. Its not the street fights that determines the victors in todays world, what are 7000 street fighters against 2 crore minds of Mumbaikars. They have cast the first (second and nth) stone and we have been silent. We need to push back the fringe elements to where they belong into the dustbin of history, un-heard and forgotten.

I agree with Shantanu. Neeraj, how are the sentiments you wrote, any different from what Raj Thackeray is going on expressing? We all understand that Raj Thakeray’s statements are offensive and racist. But that doesnt mean we also start indulging in the same.
Regarding blogging against MNS and the recent happenings, we should definitely do it. In fact, Bangalore bloggers are also planning something like that.
All Indian bloggers should definitely write about the fact that outfits like MNS need to be banned.
There are ppl DEAD because of their stupidity. Do we even need outfits like IM to cause havoc when we have such elements in our society?
Let’s take this on as desi bloggers!

Neeraj,
I can understand the sentiments but isn’t it going too far and infact, isn’t this like playing directly into the hands of Raj who wants this “segregation” based on states?
Shouldn’t our energies and anger be diverted towards “Raj” instead of towards “Maharashtra” ? I think if we sane people also get into the shouts of “Jai Bihar” and “Jai Mahrashtra”, the only losers are going to be us. Raj, and other politicians like him, only stand to gain from all this as they would get a much better fuel to the fire that they are starting. My thought of this would be to change the slogan from Jai Bihar to Jai Hind, and show this bastard that India is one, and no fool like him can cut it into pieces.
Just my thoughts. What do you say if we all join hands and write blogs to promote the truth behind his actions and the vote banks and political leverage he wants to gain out of this, instead of distancing communities further in our rage? I am sure that all sane Maharashtrians would support your cause as well.
Thanks
Shantanu
Disclaimer: I’m neither from Bihar, nor from Mahrashtra which would lead many people to think that my sentiments to this issue are a bit diluted but I’d say that since I’m not from any of these communities,
I’ve a more sane/balanced view of the things as an Indian.

Surely whatever is going on in Maharashtra is PURE POLITICS and Vote Bank Politics, nothing else. Remember, JINNAH, creator of Pakistan, got her daughter married in India. His grandsons are Indians. Isn’t it very surprising?
As far as COMMON PEOPLE are concerned, Politicians play politics and when it comes to their own family, then they seem to be like us, full of emotions and feelings.
So lets not play into their hands.

This is not required. Instead, whenever someone asks about your introduction, please tell that you are from Bihar / originally from Bihar, even without being asked anout your native state.
Bihar is underdeveloped. True. Becoz we have been selecting wrong people as our representatives on caste lines. But Biharis are not. They have guts to go to any state and survive there and dominate to such an extent that the locals start feeling insecure about their jobs.
Isn’t it!

Its seething like anything. Treatment done to us is worser than animals, despite we being citizens of India. Marathis did not make Bombay but it’s a product of the outsiders.
It’s high time for every single person and politician from Bihar to understand that we will be treated like this if we don’t progress at home. Plain and simple – it’s the result of a divide between poor and rich. We are a poor state; even for basic education, our children have to leave home, we are away and unable to even look after our old parents …. why this all happened? At least not due to Raj Thackeray.
Today, no one is willing to invest in Bihar. When national calamity comes, nobody cares. Forget outsiders, even within Bihar, our own people don’t care about their other suffering brothers, sisters.
Nepal creates floods, no politician, no government has strength to counter a Nepal-like small entity from troubling us…..from every side, we Biharis are being crushed. And most scaring is the fact that Biharis are not united even at this time of crisis, far away from feeling of urgent Bihari sub-nationalism..same corrupt minded people as IAS officers officers are ready to eat you, same kind of people fighting over petty issues…..those who are burning property at Patna Junction today ..why did they get toothless and 100% submissive when they were being beaten in Mumbai?
We are feeling helpless, we have no able leader, no group to counter such terrorists, no feeling to unite and economically choke India, till people realize that Bihar is important and they can’t keep us ignoring. None will come in support of you. See how UP is silent this time. No procession in entire UP, nothing much even happening in Bihar, Jharkhand…while thing should have been like that the entire rail and road network to Eastern India must have been blocked. When small community of Rajasthan, Gujjar could choke India for 1 complete month…I just wonder why so helpless Biharis are to do anything for their own community single entire Bihari community and State of Bihar Jharkhand?
Thing should have been like that there should have been endless protests till Raj Thackray is booked for murder, terrorist activties and his political validity is finished permanently by election commission. Every poltical party, every religion and casts must unite this time to save themselves…to save Biharis..untiringly. But nothing is happening in Patna. Nothing is happening in Delhi. Prime Minister has gone absconding..despite the fact that the same Congress is ruling in Maharastra.
Coming to the final solution. It only lays in the hands of Biharis. You have to unite, remove corruption, create a good mindset, shun all caste and religion based politics and fight for a healthy society which is having extreme of negative elements to fight with. Otherwise, keep on paying like this for being biggest destabilized community where a son cant help father becuase for simple study he has to leave home, for simple job he has to move miles away, for simple bread butter and respect he has to forget his family, roots and parents! Its a call for many urgencies.

Don’t you think you are behaving like Raj Thackrey by banning products from Maharashtra & saying ‘Jai Bihar’ instead of simple ‘Hello’ without any racial colour to it.
The problem with Raj Thackrey is that he is dividing people and we will be helping him by further accepting his pseudo ideas by banning products from Maharashtra instead of accepting it as part of our country.
