As many of you are aware, I had to face an unnecessary and time-consuming litigation which could have otherwise been avoided. Now, the judgment has come which I am dedicating to all who believe in me.
In fact, all these years I had been expressing my willingness before every forum, including my Directors, of settling all the disputes between my union and the management and requesting among other things for my reinstatement, promising that I’ll continue to maintain peace and harmony with my management.
Several courts accordingly, keeping in view my attitude, as well as the multiplicity of the litigations we had been facing, had even been observing that it would be in the interest of justice if peace could be restored in Press Trust of India.
My record in particular had always been good and the only misconduct alleged against me, was as per a 2002 charge sheet pertaining to my trade union activities and I was terminated from service on the basis of the finding of the enquiry officer holding me guilty.
Subsequently, the enquiry held by my management’s enquiry officer was set aside by the court vide an order dated 19.9.2006 that read: “… I find that the enquiry is not fair and proper and is liable to be set aside. I accordingly set aside the enquiry.”
Thereafter, a request by my management to prove the charges against me in the court was allowed, and it then led additional evidence, a process that took considerable time, much to my frustration and penury.
However, now the judgment has come wherein the operative part reads as under: “… it is held that Management has failed to prove the allegations against the workman …, and so, has failed to prove misconduct on the part of the workman. Dismissal of the workman by the Management vide order dated 23.4.2003, was both illegal and unjustified. The workman is entitled to reinstatement to his job with continuity of service and full back wages from the date of his dismissal i.e. 23.4.2003 till his reinstatement.”
Thus, I am, but naturally, emotional and humbled. I thank everyone. I thank you. At the same time, I trust that each one of you will forgive me if I have ever disappointed you on any occasion. This is the time when I expect my seniors and colleagues to treat me as their family member and help re-shape my career, family and life, which has seen many a turbulent times.
I am indeed awaiting a changed cordial atmosphere in news agency PTI which will be created after my reinstatement, for which I shall ever pray. Thank you, once again.

Yes, Rohit. It’s not easy to sit quiet amid a long and continued period of turbulence; more so… when your adversaries are out with daggers to pin you down.
But, by the grace of God and continued blessings and affections of all who love me, I kept smiling all through. Patience was the key, as also winning hearts.
Today, I believe, the number of adversaries has shrunk; people in the management appreciate my efforts. God willing things’ll start rolling.

काश सभी ईमानदार होते, सभी (कम-से-कम) इंसान होते तो ये नौबत ही नहीं आती.
पीटीआई एक बड़ी संस्था है. हम सब खुशी-खुशी काम कर सकते हैं. लेकिन उसके लिए सबसे जरूरी है हर साथी में काम करने का जज्बा, कर्मचारियों में स्वस्थ प्रतिस्पर्धा की भावना, अधिकारियों की अच्छी नियत, कंपनी व कर्मचारी दोनों के लिए सोचने वाली ट्रेड युनियन और उदार प्रबंधन.
दुःख है कि इन सबके अभाव में स्थिति हमेशा असंतोषजनक रही है.
इश्वर सभी को सदबुद्धि दे. मैं सभी के मंगल भविष्य की कामना करता हूँ.
