Romantic Ballad Singer Mohit Chauhan Is Married

Singer Mohit Chauhan is married. He just tied the knot with journalist Prarthana Gehlot at a private function held in his home state Himachal Pradesh.

Beginning with folk music and the locals as his admirers, Mohit (now 48) made more fans after singing for Silk Route band – Remember “Dooba dooba rehta hoon“!

The band is dissolved now but Mohit has no ways to look back, having delivered his first Bollywood number Gunchha koi…. for the movie Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh in 2005.

If you haven’t seen this lesser known Bollywood movie – Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh – starring Rajpal Yadav, Rituparna Sengupta and Kay Kay Menon, must you watch it to enjoy Mohit’s mountain breeze singing to feel the pulse of his nautical notes.

Whatever He Sings Is A Hit – Believe This

Gunchha Koi and Doob jaana re in Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh are two of his unparallel playbacks that I list higher than his songs in Rang De BasantiKhoon chala, Delhi-6Masakkali, Jab We MetTum se hi, FashionKuchh khaas hai, New YorkTu ne jo na kaha, KamineyPehli baar mohabbat ki hai, Love Aaj KalDooriyan, RajnitiBheegi si, Once Upon A time In Mumbai – Pee loon, and RockstarJo bhi main and Sadda haq.

I’m told Mohit loves traveling, eating and relaxing at home. May be he would do a lot of these, now… of course, with music.

A nature lover, whose childhood was surrounded by greenery, Mohit had even said he would have become a farmer instead. He grew up in Nahan, a tiny village in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district.

And yes, he owes his mellifluous voice to the fact that he used to sing into the roar of the river Beas nearby. What should we say then – the scent of water or its voice! Congratulations Mohit.
